It is unclear whether or not a tzBTC custodian's bankruptcy would result in the socialization of their costs and the spreading of those costs into the BTC holdings. It is possible that the tzBTC custodian's costs would be legally segregated, however, this is not guaranteed. The best way to determine the answer to this question would be to contact the tzBTC custodian or to tweet the question to AB, the creator of tzBTC, to see if he responds.
