For us at Madfish, from the perspective of the cost of one user, it is much easier and cheaper to convert not a crypto user.

Based on the existing answers and the question, it is clear that converting non-crypto users into crypto users is a difficult task. It requires users to not only buy crypto, but also to learn how to self-custody and interact with defi. This is a steep learning curve and requires a lot of time and effort. Furthermore, there have been no successful blockchain social media platforms to date, indicating that such a conversion is even more difficult. Therefore, from the perspective of cost, it is likely much easier and cheaper to convert non-crypto users into users of existing social media platforms rather than trying to convert them into crypto users.

I have some trouble to believe you are right. Basically it always was the tezos way but I'm not sure it's a real success for now. But You probably have stats on that. How much new people are interacting with quipuswap today compare to spring / summer 21 for example?

I dont see your logic. It's hard enough for competing social media platforms (centralized or decentralized) to obtain any meaningful marketshare compared to the largest platforms, likely due to network effects. Why would you think it would be, in any way, easier when you require users to (1) buy crypto, (2) learn how to self-custody, and (3) learn how to interact with defi? To date there have been zero successful blockchain social media platforms. Even federated platforms like Mastodon and Matrix have and more success
