a few days passed and my collection still didnt update in my kukai wallet to reflect what it is on OBJKT

Kukai uses the objkt api, if your collection is up to date in response we get from objkt then you will get the latest collection...to test this first do one thing, go to Kukai settings > clear all token metadata, does this fix it
