The discussion around NFTs has certainly taken away from the conversation regarding Defi on Tezos, but it is not necessarily because of a lack of incentive program or focus on NFTs. Rather, the issue is that other platforms are better suited for Defi than Tezos. Tezos is a layer 1 blockchain, and while it could theoretically support Defi, other platforms have more robust ecosystems and infrastructure in place that make them more attractive for developers. In addition, Tezos is still relatively new and untested compared to the other platforms, so developers may be hesitant to invest their time and resources into building Defi on Tezos. As the Tezos ecosystem matures and more projects are built on the platform, more developers may be more willing to experiment with Defi on Tezos.
